Frequently Asked Questions
What types of health insurance do you accept?
At this time, we operate as a hybrid Physical Therapy practice. Therefore, we are an out of network provider for most insurance plans. However, due to the unique challenges Medicare presents, we are an in network Medicare Part B provider. Additionally, we do provide covered services for Highmark BCBS, UMWA, and Workers' Compensation patients.

What does that mean for me? Well simply put, it is still possible to be reimbursed by your insurance company for services rendered by Better Performance Physical Therapy. Many insurance plans have out of network (OON) benefits. To determine your OON benefits, call the number on the back of your insurance card to find out what your OON benefits are for Physical Therapy.

Better Performance Physical Therapy will provide you with the necessary invoice (known as a superbill) in order to be reimbursed by your insurance company following your session.

How do I get reimbursed?
*Before scheduling we recommend verifying your OON benefits as submitting claims do not guarantee reimbursement (although many insurance plans reimburse patients a portion of the amount paid)
Submitting out of network claims has never been easier. We have partnered with the app "Reimbursify."

Reimbursify dramatically simplifies the entire claim submission process and should only take you a few minutes.
To submit a claim you will need a physical or digital copy of the receipt/superbill from Better Performance Physical Therapy, which should contain all of the information you need to complete the steps required for claims submission.

It typically takes 30-45 days for most insurance companies to process claims, after which time you will receive an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) in the mail or via email, containing details about which portion of your visit is covered by your plan, how much was applied to your deductible and how much was reimbursed.
Do I need a doctor’s referral?
No, In the state of Pennsylvania, you do not need a physician’s referral for the first 30 calendar days of treatment. If you are not achieving the results you desire, we will make the referrals to the necessary providers.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance. If cancellations are not made prior to this window, you will be charged $75. Due to the focused care and attention you receive with Better Performance Physical Therapy, it is important to us that you remain both punctual and compliant with the prescribed plan of care.

If you repeatedly cancel or reschedule your appointments with less than 24 hours notice, I may terminate our agreement. I am dedicated to helping you get back to the activities you love and I need the same dedication from you!

COVID-19 Procedures - Better Performance Physical Therapy will waive any late fees for any in-person visits if you are feeling unwell or are concerned about being exposed to the virus.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Payment is due at time of service. Acceptable forms of payment include Cash, Check, Credit Card, HSA/FSA, or Paypal.
Do you accept HSA or FSA?
Absolutely. This can be a great option for funds that must be used by year's end. A nice perk is that you can use these accounts to purchase a package that can be used at a later date.
